James Series | Wed Nights

Where Real Faith Meets Real Life | 6:30-8 pm | Youth Center
Why study James? Because the book of James is where “the rubber meets the road” when it comes to real faith impacting real life. Pastor Johnny Hunt describes the book of James as “shoe leather” wrapped around faith because James teaches about practical everyday issues that directly impact our walk with God!

Join us as James teaches us how to: turn trials into triumphs, handle temptation, treat other people fairly and equally, know genuine faith from false faith, control our tongue, get wisdom, plan ahead, develop patience, pray and more!

Passion Camp 2021

We are looking ahead to next year and want to give you the dates for Passion Camp next summer. In 2021, Passion Camp will be moving to July. The dates for Passion Camp 2021 will be July 12-15. Though we are saddened that we can’t go this year, we are so excited and expectant to see all that Jesus will do at camp next year!

Regarding the payment(s) that you have already made for this year, Passion Camp will refund all money paid to date. This includes your nonrefundable deposit as well as any additional payments made towards this year’s balance. All refunds will be issued by check. Passion Camp asks that we please allow them 60 days for the refund to be processed and mailed back to Shoal Creek, then SCBC will issue you a refund for the amount you have paid to this point.

While the 2020 summer is not going to look like we expected, we know that God is in control. Even in the midst of uncertainty and pain, He is using these days for His glory! We look forward to heading back to Passion Camp next summer!

Ministering to Students

Our Associate Pastor of Education & Youth is Gene DeVaughn (gene.devaughn@shoalcreekchurch.org).
Students (7th-12th grade) have several opportunities to connect with our youth ministry through the teaching of God’s Word, fun events and yearly trips.

Connecting through Worship

Sunday worship services are at 8&11 am as well as 5 pm. On Wednesday nights from 6:30 til 8:00 pm we have our youth worship service in the Youth Center. Snacks and drinks are provided.

Connecting through Small Group Bible Study

All of our student Bible study groups currently meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am in the Fellowship Hall for hangout time, announcements and a quick prayer before breaking into our age-graded classes for guys and girls. Also, on Sunday nights from 6:30 til 7:30 pm (Spring & Fall only), we have “Immerse” classes where we move ever deeper with God through topical studies that are relevant to the lives of students.

Connecting through Yearly Events

Winter Weekend: Each January we partner with hundreds of other students from several different churches in our community for an exciting weekend of worship, Bible study, and various service projects.

Summer Youth Camp: Each summer we attend Passion Camp led by Louie Giglio and the Passion Band in Daytona Beach, Florida. At camp, students experience incredible worship, powerful messages by the camp speakers and, of course, fun on the beach!

National & International Mission Trips (For students going into the 9th grade and up): Throughout the year our students have opportunities to travel all over the world to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They have numerous ministry opportunities such as: personal evangelism, one-on-one discipleship, reading eyeglass clinics, children’s block parties, school assemblies, and evening worship services.
